1. The temperature for melting samples should not exceed 700℃.
2. The melting time should not be too long, generally no more than 30 minutes.
3. It is not allowed to decompose or incinerate sulfur-containing substances or use sulfide fluxes in silver crucibles.
4. When in a molten state, metal salts of aluminum, zinc, tin, lead, mercury, etc. can make silver crucibles brittle. Borax should not be used to melt or burn in the crucible either.
5. After heating and melting, the silver crucible should not be immediately cooled with cold water to avoid cracking.
6. Since silver is soluble in acid, it is not advisable to leach the molten material with acid, especially concentrated acid.
