Overview
The Liquid Blocker Super Pen is primarily employed in staining experiments such as immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence. During these procedures, it is used to encircle the tissue, creating a thermally stable hydrophobic isolation zone around the tissue sample. This zone confines reagents like antibodies and probes within the demarcated hydrophobic region, preventing their leakage. As a result, it effectively reduces the consumption of various reagents and enhances the staining and incubation outcomes.
Features
1. Balanced ink flow, quick drying: The ink output is stable, and a hydrophobic circle can be formed and dried into a film within 3 to 5 seconds. It has a mild smell and is light yellow in color, making it easy to observe and proceed with subsequent operations.
2. Save reagents and increase efficiency: While ensuring experimental results, it reduces reagent usage, avoids dry and detached slices, simplifies staining procedures, and speeds up the experimental process.
3. Wide application: It is suitable for various staining and reactions on slides, coverslips, multi-well plates, or cell culture dishes, such as HE staining, in situ hybridization, TUNEL method, etc., for paraffin sections, frozen sections, cultured cells, etc.
4. Detergent resistant: The dried ink marks can withstand common detergents such as Triton X-100, Tween-20, and NP-40.
5. Enhance incubation effect: The hydrophobic circle can keep the solution concentrated, improve the incubation effect, prevent reagent cross-contamination, and support multiple staining and comparisons on the same slide or culture dish.
6. Anti-evaporation design: It features a spring pen tip to effectively reduce ink evaporation.
Technical data

Precautions
1. The tip of a new pen does not contain ink. When using it for the first time, press the tip against a glass surface repeatedly until it retracts significantly into the pen barrel (do not press too hard to prevent excessive ink from flowing out). Continue until ink flows from the barrel and moistens the tip, then it can be used normally. If the tip is dry after a long period of non-use, the same process can be followed.
2. After use, the pen cap should be promptly closed to prevent ink evaporation and affect the usage effect. Before each use, gently shake the pen a few times to ensure the tip is fully moistened with ink, then proceed with drawing circles.
3. When drawing circles around samples, it is advisable to keep the hydrophobic circle 2-3mm away from the sample edge.
4. Circles cannot be drawn on wet surfaces. Therefore, before using the immunohistochemical pen to draw circles, it is necessary to first dry the liquid around the sample with absorbent paper to ensure the drawing effect.
5. The immunohistochemical pen should be kept away from high-temperature areas to prevent ink evaporation and affect usage. In summer when the room temperature is relatively high, the pen can be stored in a 4°C refrigerator.
6. The drawn circles should be fully dried before proceeding to the next step. Usually, they dry within 3-5 seconds to form a film. The drying time is related to the amount of ink used and the room temperature. If more ink is used or the room temperature is lower, the drying time should be appropriately extended.
7. If trypsin or other proteases are needed for digestion, or antigen retrieval is required, the immunohistochemical pen should be used after these steps are completed.
8. If it is necessary to remove the drawn hydrophobic circles, xylene or anhydrous ethanol and similar organic solvents can be used.
9. This product contains volatile organic solvents and has a slight irritating odor. To avoid inhaling the odor, drawing circles and the drying of ink after drawing can be carried out in a fume hood.
10. This product is only for professional scientific research use and should not be used for clinical diagnosis or treatment, nor for food or medicine. It should not be stored in ordinary residences.
11. For your safety and health, please wear a lab coat and disposable gloves when operating.
